Surrender.........

Today has been another reminder......as we slip into day three of sick child.

My son acquired a spider bite over the weekend and as the poison accelerated faster than we could medicate him, things have become a bit frantic indeed! Doctors two days in a row and...no muck around this time. This morning the bite which looked like a purple/red ant farm was anaethitised, lanced (SCREAMING BOY AND SAD MUMMY!!), and a new antibiotic administered.
The arm that was red and angry from wrist to shoulder has now abated somewhat and my son says he feels a little better already . And so do we all!!

Of course while this is going on, I cannot go to the gallery and get started with all the plans I had for the week. So the gallery is shut....and no opportunity to earn and pay the rent. I cannot carry on with all the file Xfer from the old computer to the new ginger laptop. I cannot look at my class schedule for tonights art-quirks class or check the students payments. I cannot do much at all.
But as you can see....I can sneak in a little blog!

I CAN though, hold my son as he screams the doctors surgery down to its knees.Wipe away a million tears........ Hold him tight and cuddle and kiss as we wait for the perscription to be filled, ring dad for more comforting words, whip in and get some movies, some treats and get home to the comfy places, blankies and warm sunny lounge. I can fix him something to eat, administer some medicines and wrap my arms around him and tell him how brave he was. (NOT!!)

And it is all good. I have surrendered today to motherhood......my first and foremost job. I have made my offspring feel safe and secure and he now has a 'cool az' bandage to show off to all !!

So today although I didnt get to create as I wished and feel days behind in what I want to achieve, I have somehow been creative anyway and managed to juggle whatever was thrown at me.....(Including a 9 year old knee in the face!)

I might go and clean the fridge now.......get more food and medicine for the patient and have a power nap.

Once upon a Ginger-tree......

For some time now I have envisioned this moment. The minute when I would begin to write to you....whoever you are and whatever it is you do and feel. I have no idea if you care to read this but I have the softest hope that you might. Maybe you might be one....or maybe two....maybe more....?

But here we are.....not yet friends but soon to be......

So introductions I expect are necessary......if not common courtesy.

I am the Pied Pipress wielding a paintbrush in order to paint songs,....stories, and sometimes the odd mystery.

And so I paint and showcase a little gallery but I am so much more. I am a writer....a singer, a mother, wife , daughter and sister. I am a friend who has marvellous friends....old and new,...... young and younger.

You can find me yourself.......for I dwell amongst the ginger-trees. It is cool and safe here. It's where I belong.
